Marsh Hawk Course
Par 72
The Marsh Hawk Course at Ford’s Colony Country Club opened in 1984. Nestled in the heart of Williamsburg, the Members Only golf course designed by Dan Maples has narrow fairways, well-placed bunkers, natural lakes, and elevation changes of this traditional, tree-lined layout. Marsh Hawk served as host of the 1998 and 1999 Virginia State Opens, and as a Monday Qualifier location for the PGA Tour’s Michelob Championship 12 straight years.

Black 372 | Blue 350 | White 334 | Green 283
Pro Tip: This hole doesn’t require a long tee shot, and shots down the right side of the fairway offer the best access to the green.
Black 419 | Blue 379 | White 331 | Green 280
Pro Tip: Offers a good opportunity to really swing away with the driver. Shots up the left between the bunkers are best to avoid hitting over the bunker in front of the green. Play one club longer than you measure for approach shots.
Black 535 | Blue 494 | White 459 | Green 376
Pro Tip: Play your tee shot to the right of the fairway bunker with a little draw to get extra yardage and the opportunity to go at the green in two. Layups need to stay short of the small tree on the left of the landing area to avoid the water in front of the green.
Black 400 | Blue 366 | White 346 | Green 256
Pro Tip: Requires two good shots to make par. Drives up the left center of the fairway provide the best angle over the water to the green surrounded by water.
Black 180 | Blue 143 | White 126 | Green 94
Pro Tip: The first par 3 of the day. Be sure to take enough club to clear the water.
Black 502 | Blue 469 | White 417 | Green 401
Pro Tip: This long, uphill par 5 is real test. Drives up the left side of the fairway provide the best angle up the fairway and to the green. Be careful: the out of bounds is close all the way up the left side.
Black 418 | Blue 383 | White 348 | Green 283
Pro Tip: The toughest hole on the front 9, No. 7 requires a precision tee shot in the fairway of this sharp dogleg right to have a chance at making par. Tee shots left and right of the fairway can be heavily penalized.

Black 194 | Blue 160 | White 130 | Green 111
Pro Tip: A good, over-the-water par 3. Pick your club and knock it on the green. Errant shots are met with a lot of trouble.
Black 406 | Blue 382 | White 323 | Green 323
Pro Tip: Dogleg finishing hole on the front 9. Tee shots that hug the bunker on the left are rewarded with a shorter approach to the green. Balls down the right can easily go out of bounds.
Black 351 | Blue 327 | White 294 | Green 258
Pro Tip: Risk/reward to start the back 9. Lay up short of the hill or hit a driver to the top of the hill for a short approach. If you’re hitting your driver, stay to the right side of the fairway.
Black 567 | Blue 545 | White 507 | Green 270
Pro Tip: Par 5 for Men/Par 4 for ladies. Guys: Hit your drive down the right center. Be careful of the water left and long of the fairway. Approach shots play longer uphill than you expect.
Black 393 | Blue 361 | White 340 | Green 302
Pro Tip: Tee shots up the left side and to the top of the hill are best. The uphill approach takes a little extra club, and this green is tough to hold.
Black 310 | Blue 270 | White 263 | Green 207
Pro Tip: This dogleg right can be played more than one way. Lay up short of the pond and have an easy 150 yards. Play the fairway to the left for a shorter shot from a tough downhill lie or go for the green.
Black 320 | Blue 295 | White 290 | Green 242
Pro Tip: What you see is what you get: Hit it in the fairway and get rewarded with and easier shot into the green. Miss the fairway and holding this green is difficult.
Black 174 | Blue 158 | White 145 | Green 125
Pro Tip: This downhill shot to the green plays a club shorter than expected. Take one less club and avoid the big bunker.
Black 444 | Blue 412 | White 371 | Green 358
Pro Tip: The toughest hole on the back 9, No. 16 plays long with the uphill drive. Play your drive left of the fairway bunker and take enough club to get the ball on the green in two.
Black 153 | Blue 125 | White 117 | Green 93
Pro Tip: There is a lot of slope in this green, and you’ll want to be on the correct level to have the best chance at birdie or par.
Black 512 | Blue 483 | White 438 | Green 378
Pro Tip: Good finish today. Play your drive toward the fairway bunker without going in it. Lay up to the bottom of the hill for an easy wedge to the green.
